Democratic Banquet Coming October 23^rd

It's nearly time for our annual Democratic banquet:

Thursday, October 23, 2008 - 5:15 p.m.
Novosel Civic Center: 4145 Route 286 West

We anticipate an exciting evening of inspiring speeches, musical entertainment, great food, and warm companionship. A prominent leader (to be announced) is expected to speak on behalf of the Obama/Biden campaign. The keynote speaker will be IUP alumnus and Pennsylvania Audtor General Jack Wagner.

The pleasures of the evening will include a generous buffet dinner and the delights of the local quartet Grist of the Mill. Come about 5:15 p.m. for the social hour, and dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

For a reservation, mail a $25 check to the Indiana County Democratic Committee at P.O. Box 315 by October 15.

Volunteer Opportunities for the Obama Campaign

We are excited to announce that we are now an official Campaign for Change site and are eager to launch into the persuasion aspect of the campaign. We need your help and your energy!

Please sign up to volunteer for the fall campaign by stopping by headquarters or calling Indiana Field Organizer, Bridget Connolly at 614-578-5344.

Daily opportunities for making calls (even from home), registering voters - especially at IUP Aug 25-29, staffing headquarters, canvassing, data entry, and more. There is something for everyone!

Message from the Chair

My Dear Fellow Democrats.

As many of you were aware, I was a very big supporter for Senator Hillary Clinton for President. It was my pleasure to be a part of bringing former President Bill Clinton to Indiana. It was a very challenging race; Senators Clinton and Obama opened the doors for many people.  They both brought a fresh breath of air with them, changing history forever.

Now it's time to Unite, we as Democrats need to Unite behind Senator Obama for our President of the United States.  We are not done changing History, we have only yet to begin. And there are so many things that need changed, you and I both know that as Democrats.  And you and I know that only Democrats will be able to make those changes.

So my wish for Indiana County is this, let's unite behind Senator Obama and take the White House back. None of us can afford another George Bush term under Senator McCain as President. The future can be a bright one - Change is a Good Thing.  Indiana County can be a part of making a difference.  Now is our chance to make it happen.
